DAY ONE

To be honest, it’s felt a little messy. The class size is large, and feels like a stifling learning environment. The heat is high, and it seemed like little structure.
The welcome covered some aspects that are good – like who everyone is, and a soft framework for the course, however, basic stuff, such as wifi login wasn’t covered. There was also little discussion about the placement/practicum what ever it is being called. I’m unclear if it is an area we have to source for ourselves (if free work), or if this will be defined by the course. To be defined…
Honestly, I expected a little more structure, direction and confidence from the programme coordinators.
Then we had the UX Practice Course, which is reflected on here.
After the long break, where I enjoyed lunch with Joyce, Abby and Bianca, we finally got back to it with the Reflective Practices workshop…which was a writing workshop!
I found that really beneficial. I mean I’m kinda confident writing, keeping to the point, staying on topic and all that, but this course is going to extended my knowledge and actually interesting. If still hot.
And that’s on me. I’m ashamed of the state of my body and think that I should have just sucked it up and taken my sweater off…oh well. Learning for tomorrow.
The walk to the train station was brisk and I just missed the train. Oh well again. Once home, I poured a wine, and reflected on the day. I’ve made a list of what I need to do, and it turns out it’s all really functional. I know that about myself…that I need to be precise and have a list of everything. It’s something I’d like to loosen up on, so let’s see if I can.
